Hi, I'm Nancy McIntyre.
I am an artist who lives on the North Shore of Massachusetts, USA. I practice painting, photography, and iconography. I paint because the process of creating brings me a sense of deep satisfaction and relief from the stressors of daily life. I love it when a viewer tells me how a painting makes them feel, or how they connect to the subject matter. I’m mostly a representational artist whose focus is landscapes and architecture. Recently, I’ve combined my love of both painting and street photography, into the practice of creating architectural paintings in acrylic. I paint with acrylic, because I work fast, and acrylic dries quickly. I usually work from photographs to draw the composition, then apply color where I see and feel best. My inspiration comes from whatever I find beautiful or interesting. Professionally, I’ve worked in the publishing field as a graphic designer for over two decades. In my twenties, I became an Orthodox Christian and studied the Russian style of iconography under the now-late Ksenia Pokrovsky. I’ve been painting landscapes and architecture for about five years.
